Suggestions or Recommendation about the survey topic

Career choice is one of the most important factors for international students. Therefore ,we ask international students in ELICOS at Swinburne University about their decision on career choice after university. This survey was completed by 15 students who come from 6 different countries.  As a result, we cover some information related to our topic such as factors that impact career decisions and how to achieve dream jobs, especially we provide some tips on how to choose a  career in the right way or make a plan for that as it is crucial for all international students. Besides, we suggested international students to avoid choosing quickly and do not idea for that because it can make you feel disappointed and waste time to start again Firstly, we have found that many international students think that the influence of family plays an important role in their career decision. Graphs and charts We collected general information about the respondents in terms of ages, hometowns and gender. The first pie chart illustrates the Interviewees’ background. It is noticeable that the majority of students who come from Japan, accounting for 40% of international students. Following that, the number of Chinese students makes up to 26% which is also twice more than the number of Vietnamese students. While the minority of students come from Thailand, Taiwan and Jordan are similar with only 7%. The next graph shows the proportion of respondent’s gender. The number of male and female are nearly the same at 47% and 53% respectively. The final chart presents information about the age group of students and the main one is students whose age are from 18 to 21 with 54%, while 33% of students’ age group is from 22 to 25 and only 13% of students aged over 25. Rationale of the survey

The topic of our survey is about career choice and International students, which is made for International students who are studying in EAP4 at Swinburne University of Technology. As we grow up, life has been divided into several priorities to focus on. Career is a essential point which helps people set a reliable life and complete the target. As well as International students, they want to have a stable job with high salary but sometimes they do not know what they will take as a future career. That is one of the reasons why their mental health is getting worse when they study abroad, especially when they do not have support or guidance from their family and friends. As a results, the majority of students are wasting their time with wrong major and they are more likely unemployed in the future.
